SHOT AT BOY CYCLIST
THOUGHT GUN WAS EMPTY ACCIDENT AT KIMIHIA From Our Own Correspondent HUNTLY, Monday. Under the impression that an old single-barrelled shotgun he had was empty, Ronald Ward, aged 16, fired on Robert Lumsden, aged 13, as the latter lad was cycling along the road near his parents’ residece at Kimihia on Sunday evening. ' Although the gun was discharged from a distance of about 40yds, about 30 pellets penetrated Dumsden’s chest, body and legs. Dr. Duncan Macdiarmid was summoned immediately and extracted the pellets from the wounded lad, who is progressing favourably.
