PERSONAL.—Captain W. Martin is temporarily in command of the Royal Mail liner Aorangi, in place, of Captain R. Crawford, who left the vessel at Sydney to undergo an operation. Captain T. B. Sewell has been transferred from the Marama to the Maunganui, and Captain Duncan MacDonald, e.\master of the Tofu a, has taken command of the Marama. Captain G. B. Corby, who tvas master of the Kaituna, lias been transferred to the Kaimanawa, relieving Captain W. W. Pish, who has gone on holiday leave. KAITUNA DOCKS TOMORROW.—The Union Company's steamer Kaituna, at present discharging at this port, docks tomorrow for cleaning and painting. TOFUA'S MOVEMENTS.—The Union Company advises that its Island passenger steamer Tofua left Apia at 4 p.m. on Friday for Suva and Auckland. The vessel is to leave Suva on Thursday. THE KAIIVIIRO.—In continuation of her voyage from Adelaide, Edithburg, Wallaroo and Hobart, the Union Company’s steamer Kaimiro left Lyttelton at 5 p.m. on Saturday for Wellington, Picton and Auckland. PORT DUNEDIN AT HALIFAX.—The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor-ship Port Dunedin, which left Auckland for Halifax and London on February 5, is reported to have reached Halifax last Friday.

TUTANEKAI EXPECTED.—No further advice has been received by the Marine Department of the Government maintenance steamer Tutanekai, which has been servicing East Coast lighthouses She is expected here soon and goes to Queen’s Wharf. NGAKUTA RECOMMISSIONED. —The Union Company’s steamer Ngakuta hasbeen recommissioned at Newcastle, and is in command of Captain M. MacKenzie. The. temporary officers of the vessel are:—Chief, Mr. J. A. Pearson; second, Mr. A. W. Rabbits. Mr. C. F.. Gaby is third officer. ROTORUA TO SAIL.—The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Rotorua, at present at Queen’s Wharf loading for London, is to be dispatched at noon tomorrow for Wellington to complete filling up. The vessel is scheduled to sail finally from the capital on March 15 with passengers and cargo for Southampton and London. SOUTHERN CROSS AND DREDGE UNDOCKING. —The Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross, and the Gisborne Harbour Board’s dredge Korua are to undock tomorrow. The Southern Cross is to anchor in the stream, and is to sail on April 8 for Melanesia. The dredge is to go to North Wall to complete overhaul. THE MAM ILI US. —To continue loading for London, the Shaw-Savill steamer Maniilius arrived at Wellington on Friday from Lyttelton. She is to leave there again on Thursday for Wanganui for further loading, and returns thence to Wellington. From there she will then proceed on March 20 to Napier to fill up, and is to sail finally from there on March 22 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal. RADIO FROM HERT FO R D.—ln ward bound from Liverpool, the Federal steamer Hertford lias sent a radio message to the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company to the effect that she expects to reach Auckland at 3 a.m. on Friday next. The vessel has a cargo of general merchandise from West Coast of the United Kingdom ports for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Bluff and New Plymouth.
