ACCIDENT AT SPEEDWAY

Swerving and skidding in a cloud of dust, a car driven by Mr. G. Smith, bad a spectacular crash at the conclusion of the programme at the Mangere Speedway on Saturday. Mr. Smith was -covering a lap at high speed in Mr. T. L. Cooper's car, when one of the front wheels collapsed. He was thrown out on to - the track but escaped injury. The car continued for 60 yards and stopped in a damaged condition.
