TAWA FLAT TROUBLE
STOP-WORK MEETING HELD Press Association WELLINGTON, Friday. The cessation of work at Tawa Flat was not, as it was first thought to be, a strike. The men decided to hold a stop-work meeting to discuss the conditions under which they are working and three shifts are running. The stoppage was from midnight. As a result of the deliberations it was decided that a deputation should endeavour to meet the Minister of Public Works, Hon. E. A. Ransom, on his return from the North next week and place the men’s grievances before him.
