j PROFIT-SHARING SCHEME | OVER 400 PERFORMANCES | .Everyone concerned in the London I I production of “Journey’s End.” I whether ac tors, stage-hands, clerks or call boy, may share in the fortune which is being made from Mr. Slierriff’s play, if a proposed profit-sharing scheme is carried through | An effort is also to be made to band the actors together into a permanent company, giving them security of tenure. These announcements were made by Mr. F. A. S. Gwatkin. a director of Maurice Browne, Ltd., the producers, when, after the 400th performance at I the Prince of Wales Theatre, a bonus ■ of £1,550 and Christmas boxes were distributed to the staff. Stage hands, cleaners and attend j | ants each received an additional 1 week’s wage, and the actors received , a percentage on their annual salaries. ! This is the second bonus which the staff lias received, but the bonus sys \ tem is not considered satisfactory, i and so profit-sharing is to be intro- j duced.
