Irene Vanbrugh and Marie Ney (the New Zealand actress) were among the speakers at the annual dinner of the Repertory Players in London. • * * Gregan McMahon intends to organise au audience for carrying on the production of higher class plays in Melbourne. He has engaged the Bijou Theatre for his enterprise, and is asking for GOO members to subscribe either £1 13s or 16s. McMahan proposes to give the following plays: "The Circle” (Somerset Maugham); “Jacob’s Ladder” (Norman MacOwan); “The Trojan Woman,” “The Pretty Sabine Women,” "Magic,” “Children of the Moon,” “The Plough and the Stars” (O’Casey), “Rope” i Patrick Hamilton). “Jane Clegg” (St. John Ervine), “John Ferguson,” “After All,” and “Thunder in the Air.”
