“THE MARRIAGE PLAYGROUND”
Children appearing in motion pictures rank 20 per cent, higher in scholarship than the average school child, according to a report from the Los Angeles Board of Education. The main reason for the scholastic brilliance of movie children is given by Miss Rachael Smith, principal of the Paramount school, who says that only unusually bright, alert and observant children are used in motion pictures. The five children of school age appearing in “The Marriage Playground,” with Mary Brian and Fredric March, all keep up their class work in addition to taking private lessons in French, dancing and piano. All the children report to the special Paramount school for three hours each day. Here they receive private instruction. Little Mitzi Green, the baby vaudeville star, has received all her previous education through the Children’s Professional School, a correspondence school for stage children.
