MUNICIPAL CONCERTS

The opening concert for the season 1930 will be presented this evening in the Town Hall by the Auckland Municipal Band. A novel and unique programme lias been prepared, and will include the overture “Ruy Bias,” original marches, “Newton” and “Ponsonby,” specially composed by members of the band; suite, “Equisses Caucasiennes,” four lovely tone pictures; tone poem, “Meditation,” and National Fantasia, “Reminiscences of Wales.” Instrumental solos will be played by Mr. McLennan, flute, Mr. Bowes, cornet. Mr. Pheloung, clarinet, and Mr. Rowland Jackson, xylophone. Special vocal numbers will be sung by Miss Kay Christie, soprano. Booking arrangements are advertised.
