DAIRYMEN’S VISIT ENDS
AUSTRALIANS DEPART Press Association WELLINGTON, Friday. The party of 60 Australian dairymen which has been touring the North Island for the past 11 days under the auspices of Amalgamated Dairies, Limited, terminated its tour today, when the bulk of the delegates left on their return to Sydney by the Uiimaroa.
“It has been a wonderful time,” said Mr. G. S. Stening, leader of the party. “We have seen not only the main farming districts of the North Island, but also the scenic beauties and charms of the thermal regions and Mount Egmont. Quite apart from the dairying aspect of our trip, the tour will have been abundantly worth while for New Zealand, as every member of the delegation will be a walking advertisement for the country for years to come. New Zealand is a wonderful country, with amazing pastures supremely blessed for dairying purposes, and we shall leave with a marked impression of abundant prosperity in this favoured land.” Before sailing the whole delegation gathered to present to Mr. W. Goodfellow a Maori clock and a letter of appreciation.
