DR. SCHACHT RESIGNS
DISAGREES WITH HAGUE FINDINGS PRESIDENT OF REICHSBANK Reed. 10.45 a.m. BERLIN, Friday. Dr. Hjalmar Schacht has resigned the presidency of the Reichsbank on the ground that he disagrees •with The Hague agreements. Schacht’s resignation followed a heated discussion with his fellow directors, during which he asserted the Young Plan was unbearable to Germany. He voiced distrust of the Government’s financial policy. The news spread like wildfire through the city, and caused consternation in the Bourse. Several important stocks fell 12 to 15 points. Dr. Schacht was principal German delegate at The Hague Reparations Conference. He is one of Europe’s leading financial experts-.-
