CARPENTER FINED FOR THEFT Admitting at the Police Court this morning that he had stolen three leadlight panels valued at £4, belonging to Gladys Elsie Pink, at New Lynn on September 27, Henry Ernest Hirst, a carpenter, aged 40, was fined £lO. in default one month’s imprisonment. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said accused had been renovating a house at New Lynn. In the morning he had visited another house that was empty at the time and stole the panels, which were later found stored in his own home. Hirst was given 14 days in which to pay the fine.
