FIRE AT WHAKATANE

SHOP AND OFFICES BADLY DAMAGED MOTOR-CYCLES DESTROYED Press Association WHAKATANE, Today. A fire occurred early this morning in premises owned by Mr. L. Buddie and occupied by Mr. 1.. Bunning, electrician, and Buddie and Otley, solicitors. The outbreak started in Bunning’s shop, which was completely gutted, but most of the stock had been removed to new premises. A good deal of damage was done in Buddie and Otley’s premises by fire and water. The outbreak was quickly subdued by the brigade. Mr. Buddie’s premises were insured for £I,OOO in the British Traders’ Office and the contents of Buddie and Otley’s offices for £6lO in the South British. Two racing motor-cycles in Bunning’s premises were destroyed.
