From Our Own Coi-respondent PAPAKURA. Thursday. There was an exceptionally heavy varding of cattle at the Papakura stock sales this week. Prices were slightly easier for fat and forward cows and Jersey weaner heifer calves were easier in values. Westfield prices were maintained for good beef. Heavy fat steers brought up to £l4 10s; dairy cows close to nrotit, to £l4 10s; good quality Jersey heifers, close to profit, to £ll. A few good quality Shorthorn heifers made to £ll ss. Three-vear-old steers made to £lO 10s: 18-month to 2-year sieers. to £7 10s; good Shorthorn weaner Heer calves, to £4 10s: Jersey heifer Shorthorn weaner calves, to £4 os; j heavy bulls, for potting, to £9 7s Gd: ! smaller sorts, £4 10s to £G.
