ESTHONIAN DEFENCE CORPS GIVEN TEST OFFICERS ONLY CASUALTIES United P.A. — By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. Noon. RIGA. Wednesday. In anticipation of a Communist demonstration. and in accordance with orders from Moscow, the Esthouian Self-Defence Corps arranged a test of alarm calls at 4 o’clock in the morning. Ringing bells, blowing foghorns and arousing the population. the corps promptly occupied the Government office and railway station, and military patrols arrested several suspects who had no passports. They surprised a number of Communists sallying out with rifles, believing a military revolt had occurred. The test alarm was carried out satisfactorily, except for a single accident. when an over-zealous military patrol tired on a limousine for not halting to show documents. and wounded the staff major-general and killed the adjutant.
