CAR GOES OVER BANK

SKID ON DANGEROUS ROAD THREE PERSONS INJURED From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. A service car proceeding to Rotorua last night skidded in the heavy sand near the Karapiro Factory, beyond Cambridge. The driver, Mr. W. Dahl, lost control of the car and it went over a bank 15ft. deep. In addition to the driver, the vehicle contained five passengers, Mr. Frederick John Evans, 57, salesman, Gisborne, his wife and their small son and daughter, aged respectively 14 and 12, and Mrs. Kate Howe, 64, Rotorua. Mr. Evans and Mrs. Howe received injuries to their backs, and are to be X-rayed this morning at the Waikato Hospital. Master Michael Evans was injuned about the head, but not seriously, and the other passengers were severely shaken, but escaped actual injury. This particular stretch of road in its present condition is highly dangerous on account of the depth of the gravel coating. Last Monday attention >vas drawn to the road by the Hamilton agency of the Automobile Association, when surprise was expressed that local bodies should, when top-dressing roads, apply dressing so thickly.
