TAKAPUNA BAND
ANNUAL MEETING HELD Prospects were considered bright for an even more successful year than the last, at the sixth annual meeting of the Takapuna Municipal Band. During the past 12 months a band room had been erected and the musical and social- life was expected to benefit considerably. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. W. R. Wilson; president, Mayor of Takapuna; vice-presidents, the Hon. E. W. Alison, Dr. S. Mac Kay, Dr. Garfield Stewart. Captain Atwood, Messrs. S. Reid, G. Xicks, A. Maloney, J. Henderson, F. Hawes. J. H. Maxwell, W. H. Taylor, A. Gunn, A Kells, and members of the Takapuna Borough Council; secretary and treasurer. Mr. S. V. Higgins; auditor, Mr. A. H. Wilkie; trustees, Messrs. B. C. Hart and G. F. McFlinn: bandmaster, Mr G. V. Merton; sergeant, Mr. C. Kicholson; corporal, Mr. Stacey; librarian. Mr. L. J. Henderson; custodian, Mr. W. Payne; committee, Messrs. E. G. Tucker, L. Henderson, J. H. Maxwell, J Henderson, A. Rappard and exofficio members. At a meeting of the committee, Mr. Tucker was re-elected chairman, and Mr. McFlinn vice-chairman.
