FISHING BOAT LOST
TWO MEN THOUGHT DROWNED disappearance in gale Press Association INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. Advice was received by the Police at Bluff today of the loss of the fishing boat Mararoa, owned by the Bluff Fish and Oyster Company. whi'e engaged in fishing off Smoky Point, at eight o'clock this morning. JT is feared that the two men on board, Thomas Clark and John have been drowned. It irf too ru 8h in Foveaux Strait for any small vessel to make a search. The Mararoa was considered lo JC a *ery seaworthy craft. She was ketch* ri BSed, and had an auxiliary engine. It is reported from Stewart Island three fishing boats were rtinn.ng 'or shelter at the time, and one of them noticed that the Mararoa had disappeared. The boat immediately ! ,me fruitlessly. Finally she had to the dangerous spot. The fishing boats will return to the fi «arch as soon aa the gale moderates.
