BIRKENHEAD WEDDING

BOUQUET OF ROSES AND ASTERS HAMPTON—COCKS On Monday last, at the Birkenhead Anglican Church, the marriage took place of Mavis Laura, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cocks, of Birkenhead, to Victor John, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hampton. The Rev. T. South worth, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Grace, performed the ceremony*. Air. Ewart Dyne, cousin of the bride, presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away bv her father, wore a dainty frock of ivory mariette, -with tight-fitting bodice, the skirt falling in loose panels. She -wore her mother's lovely lace veil caught to the head with orange blossoms and carried a bouquet, of white roses and asters with asparagus fern. The bride was attended by two maids. Miss Dora Cocks, sister of the bride, who wore a frock of powder blue crepe de chine, with head-dress of blue tulle, and Miss Dorothy Deng, in pale rose marriette. with band of tulle round her head. Their bouquets were of asters and maidenhair fern in tones to match their frocks. Dater a reception was held in the Methodist Hall, where Mrs. Cocks received her guests wearing a gown of silver grey crepe de chine, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of pale mauve asters and fern. The bridegroom’s mother was in a frock of fawn silk, with hat to match. Her bouquet was m autumn shades. For her going-away frock the chose a navy blue costume and hat relieved with touches of lemon.
