PAPATOETOE TOWN BAND
ANNUAL MEETING HELD There was a large attendance of members and supporters of the Papatoetoe Town Band at tine seventh annual meeting, held in the Papa toetoe Town Halt last evening. Mr W. Brown, president of the band, presided. A comprehensive review of last year’s work was included in the secretary’s report, which stated that 17 public performances had been given oy the band. Two concerts in aid of the Earthquake Relief Fund, resulted in 40 11s 3d being handed over. The Christmas carol collection totalled £26 ‘ls. Arrangements have now been made which allow military trainees to be enrolled as a unit of the 16th Waikato Regimental Band. They are allowed to practice with the Papatoetoe Band, and as such have to attend band practice in lieu of military parades. The balance sheet as adopted was approved.
