HAWSER BREAKS MAN’S LEG

Mr. John Lindberg, aged 56, of 53 Princes Street. Onehunga, was nd mitted to the Auckland Hospital yester day afternoon suffering from a compound fracture of one leg, which he received as the result of being caught in a hawser on one of the Union Company's coal hulks at Western Wharf. The hulk was being moored at the time and opp of the lines becoming entangled. Mr. Lindberg attempted to free it. It straightened suddenly and caught his leg. The injured man was conveyed to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance His condition this morning is not serious.
