SIMON COMMISSION
PREPARATION OF INDIAN REPORT WORK LARGE AND LABORIOUS British Official Wireless ' RUGBY, Monday. The Secretary of State for India, Mr. Wedgwood Benu, stated in the House of Commons today that Sir John Simon, chairman of the Indian Statutory Commission, had informed him that the commission hoped to submit its report soon after Easter. No time was being wasted, but the work was so laborious and the range of subjects so large that it was not possible to make a definite statement at present. Arrangements were being made for the simultaneous publication of the report in India and in Britain. Asked whether he was considering an extension of the present scheme of indianising eight units of the British Army iu India, Mr. Benn said he was ready to consider an extension as soon as the Government of India felt justified in recommending it.
