WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

GLEN EDEN BRANCH ; In the unavoidable absence of the ! president, Mrs. D. Dorman, the monthly j meeting of the Glen Eden branch of : the Women's Institute was presided I over by Mrs. Huy ton. the secretary. I It had been decided to make the meeting an open night, so that visitors might have an opportunity of hearing an address given by Mr. Goodwin, of Auckland, upon the psychology of the mind. Mrs. Lawrie, vicepresident, introduced the speaker. The lecture was most interesting and Mr. Goodwin was accorded a hearty vote of thanks with an invitation to come , again at an early date. Supper was served by Mrs. Bartram and Mrs. Kay. A competition which had been arranged by Mrs. Claridge, entitled “A Motor Wedding,” caused much amusement. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
