IMPROVED SYDNEY PRICES United P.A—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, Tuesday. At the Sydney wool sales today, the offerings were 8,368 bales, of which 7,954 were sold, and also 423 privately. There was very strong competition from all sections of the trade, in which America shared. The market was firm at late rates. Fine wools touched the best point of the year. Greasy Merino sold to 26d. TAUMARUNUI STOCK SALE From Our Oxen Correspondoit TAUMARUNUI. Tuesday. A yarding of over G.OOO sheep, mostly all in splendid condition, met with a ready sale today. Prices showed a steady upward tendency. Fat wethers made 25s 3d to 2Gs; fat ewes, ISs; fat lambs. 16s 6d: store wethers. 22s Id to 245; other wethers. 19s Gd to 21s 9d; two-tooth ewes, 28s to 3Us 9d; four and five-year-old ewes, 19s Id to 23s Id; aged ewes, 13s to 235; other ewes, 17s Gd to ISs 9d; a line of 395 four and five-year-old ewes made 26s 2d.: weaner pigs, 17s to 19s Gd: cattle sold at late rates.
