SrEAin business is being transacted over a wide market and in several stocks a slight improvement is shown. Auckland Gas are active and selling freely at 23s 6d.
Business on the Auckland Market Transactions on the Auckland market over the past 24 hours included: Yesterday afternoon: Commercial Bank, £1 Is 7d; Union Hank, £l2; Dikurangi Coal turd.), Is 9d; LeylandO’Brien Timber, £1 8s 3d; National Timber, 8s Gd; Monteith’s Brewery, 8s Gd; Electrolytic Zinc (pref.), £1 7s Sd; Farmers’ Trading (ord.), 8s 7d: Moanataiari (.paid). 2s 2d: Waihi, 13s 6d. At the morning early call: Auckland Gas. £1 3s Gd: National Timber, 8s 6d; Wilsons Cement. £1 18s Gd; MouQt Lye 11, £1 12s Od. At the midday call: Commercial Bank, £1 Is Gd: Commercial Bank, Cl Is 7d; Colonial Sugar, £44; Milne and Choyce (debenture stock), £1 7s. Market at Midday Bank shares arc attracting scattered investors and occasional sales are being written up. Australasia have steady buyers at £l2, sellers now appearing at £l2 6s; Commercial are selling freely at 21s 7d. Wales have firmed slightly. New Zealand have eased. Union changed hands last evening at £l2, leaving a week, market. Coal shares, although less active, still attract many investors. Grey
Valley are unchanged. Hikurangi ordinary sold last evening at Is 9d, leaving no change in the market; both the preference issues are steady. Pukemi ro are supported with buyers at 68s, sellers 70s Gd. Renown ordinary are unchanged. More inquiries are registered for timber. Bartholomew have persistent buyers at 21s, seilers are scarce. Kauri are again supported, with buyers at 13s, sellers 15fi. Leyland sold last evening at 28s. 3d. National also sold last evening at 8s Gd and again this morning, the market remaining firm.
