ENORMOUS REVENUE SECURED BY FRANCE * EACH AMERICAN SPENDS £4BO Reed. 1 p.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” points out that new and striking evidence of the great economic importance of the tourist traffic to France is clearly shown in a report just issued by the National Office of Tourists. It is estimated that foreigners spent £120,000,000 last year, representing roughlx one-third of the national budget. By far the largest number, 881,045, came from Britain, and on one day alone 121,686 British excursioiNots landed in Northern France. The Americans numbered 220,000, spending an average ef £4BO a head. The Spaniards numbered 534,000.
