TOURING AUSTRALIANS
OTOROHANGA VISITED INSPECTION OF FARM From Our Own Correspondent OTOROHAXGA, Monday. Conducted by Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., the Australian farmers motored from Te Awamutu today to inspect the rarm and jersey herds of Mr. F. O. R. Phillips, of Meadowlands, Otorohanga. During the afternoon the visitors were entertained at tea under the trees on a shady part of the farm. After tea Mr. G. S. Stening. of New South Wales, the leader of the party, ealled upon Mr. R. Watson, of Victoria, to express the appreciation of the delegates for the interest that was being taken in their visit and the hospitality shown to them. Mr. Watson thanked Mrs. Phillips for so kindly entertaining the party and congratulated Mr. Phillips on the state of his farm and the condition of his herds. He said Australian and New Zealand farmers sprang from a common stock and should regard each other as brothers. He was so impressed by the welcome everywhere accorded to the delegation that, should a party of New Zealand farmers visit Australia, and he hoped it would, the farmers there would do their best to reciprocate the many courtesies and kindnesses received in New Zealand. All*. G. S. Stening said the whole tour had been a wonderful success and he was glad to find Mr. Phillips’s farm in particular and Waikato farms in general in such excellent condition and heart. Later the party in 12 cars left to make an evening visit to the Waitomo Caves.
