CONFERENCE TOMORROW

CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH A record number of delegates from all parts of the Dominion will attend the annual conference of the Congregational Union of New Zealand, which is to open in the Beresford Street Church tomorrow. In the evening the ordination of Pastor Albert V. Whiting, of Is’ew Lynn, will be followed by the presidential address delivered by the chairman of the union, the Rev. Frank de Lisle, of Kapler. On Thursdy, at 7.30 p.m. the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher will speak on ‘’Modern Substitutes For God.” Saturday afternoon will see motor outings arranged for visitors and their hosts, and on Sunday there will be special services throughout the city and suburbs. Further public meetings will be held on the first three evenings of next week, the speakers being the Revs. IT. TV'. Kewell, AT.A.; D. Gardiner Miller and Albert Mead, M.A.
