EXCITEMENT AT ROTORUA From Our Own Correspondent ROTORUA, Today. The Albion v. Mamaku cricket match created great interest, Mamaku being one point in the lead in the McLean Cup competition. Spectators voiced their dislike of the tactics of the opening batsmen for Albion, who stonewalled for two hours. Mamaku batted first and scored only 74, of which Hailwood hit 43. Albion has seven wickets in hand for 132, Burton and Jessop having hit out later in the afternoon. WAIUKU BEATS KARAKA From Our Own Correspondent. WAIUKU, Today. The match between Karaka and Waiuku was completed at Massey Park, Waiuku, on Saturday and the result was a win for the home team by 69 runs. Waiuku, first innings, 143; second, 115 (Cooper 53 retired, Hodgkinson 15, Sampson 14. Morris 10 not out). Karaka, first innings, 58; second innings, 131 (Pleydell 35 not out.
