THEFT Of METAL
SUSPECTS REMANDED Charged with the theft of metal. William Thomas Phillips and Alfred Norton were remanded for a week at the Police Court this morning. Bail was granted. Phillips, a caretaker, aged 0., was charged with stealing 24.1 bof metal, valued at £6 3s 6d, on February 4 and Norton with stealing 7cwt, valued at £l9 12s, on December 1. Mr. Clark appeared for Phillips, and asked for bail. He also asked for bail for Norton. Mr. Sullivan not being present. , ~ Bail was granted in one surety of £IOO for Phillips, ancl £SO for “Phillips is believed to have taken more,” said Detective-Sergeant Kelly.
