VISIT TO DARGAVILLE From. Our Own Correspondent DARGAVILLE, Friday. CThe Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public Works, and party, arrived at Dargaville this evening on their initial tour of this district. The Ministerial party was met at 2.30 by Mr. V. Trounson, chairman of the Hobson County Council, and Crs. Wordsworth, and Montgomery, and Mr. S. L. Spanhake, county engineer, who accompanied them on a tour of inspection of the roads. The party was motored to Tangowahine, thence by train to Kirikopuni. They went by car to Mangaltahia, doubling back through Sommerville’s Road to Karalca Road, then down through the Avoca settlement, and arrived at Dargaville at 6.40. This evening a public reception and conversazione was given at Dargaville. Mr. S. L. Spanhake, Deputy-Mayor, represented the Mayor, owing to the latter’s absence at the XVlunicipal Conference. Tomorrow the Minister will be motored through Tangaihi and Okahu districts. Several deputations will meet him tomorrow night. Mr. Ransom will spend Sunday in Dargaville. On Monday the party will proceed from Kaihu to Whangarei.
