PICTURESQUE REVOLT

RAGGED PEASANT ARMY CAPTURES CITY NO BLOOD YET SPILLED NEW YORK, Wednesday. Advices from Santo Domingo state that one of the most picturesque yet bloodless revolutions in Latin American history occurred today, when a revolutionary army of 2,000 jieasants of the Dominican Republic, dressed in ragged clothes, took possession of the capital, and forced the Government to negotiate for a settlement of their grievances. While the ragged army lounged about the town a discussion was held at the Presidential Palace between the President, Senor Horacio Vasquez. and the commander of the rebel army, who arrived in a patchwork uniform. The principal interest centres in the fact that no blood has yet been spilled.
