KEEN SWIMMING
DRAPERS’ ANNUAL CARNIVAL RECORD FOR 300 METRES A 300-metres breaststroke record was established by Miss G. Pidgeon at the Retail Drapers' and Mercers’ Swimming Association’s annual carnival, held at the Tepid Baths last evening. Miss Pidgeon swam very well in the splendid time of smin 40 4-ssec. An exhibition of life-saving was given by members of the Milford Life-saving Club. All events were keenly contested and were witnessed by a fair attendance of spectators. The 220yds men’s handicap was won by Clarkson, and Berridge -won the 100yds. The 66 2-3yds handicap for girls was won by Miss Holt, while Miss Jarrett was responsible for the 33 l-3yds event. * Following are the results: Men’s Handicap, 50yds.—First heat: Ramsay, Is, 1; Hill, 2s, 2; Smith, scr, 3.
