SEARCHING INVESTIGATION TO BE MADE REQUEST OF DEPUTATION MELBOURNE, Thursday. The Chief Secretary of Victoria, Mr. T. Tunnecliffe, has agreed to the request of a deputation of athletes, that a searching investigation should be made into the allegation by Mr. J. W. Schafe, at a meeting of the Victorian Athletic League recently, that doping was prevalent on a large scale among runners. The members of the deputation said they resented Mr. Schafe’a remarks.
