BEER TOO MUCH FOR DRIVER’S SKILL PARTY LEADS TO TROUBLE Press Association TIMARU, Today. When Harry Newall, alias Ashford, and a friend named Evans filled up their “Blue Peter" yesterday afternoon everything looked set for a convivial evening. Two gallons of beer were disposed of in a short time, but their luck was out when the car Newall was driving collided with a service car shortly after 9 o’clock. The police were soon on the scene and Newall went to the police station and Evans to hospital. In the light of subsequent events the evening was destined to prove a costly one for Newall. He was fined £lO and lost his driver’s licence today in the Timaru Magistrate’s Court on a charge of having been intoxicated while In charge of a car.
