SILENT FILMS AT LYRIC
“The Show-down," which is the chief attraction of the double-feature film programme now at the Lyric Theatre, is a powerful drama of hate and conflict on the Mexican oilfields. Excellent characterisations are given bv George Bancroft and Evelyn Brent and Neil Hamilton as the young lovers, and Fred Kohler as the villain. The second feature is “The Big ■Voise ” an amusing skit on municipal elections in America, starring Chester Conklin.
