Won by two lengths, with three between second and third. Time, 2.10 3-5. NOVICE STAKES Of £80; 6 furlongs. 2 A CRELINE 1 10—CORNEROPF 2 S—WIN ACRE 3 All started. Won by two lengths, with a neck between second and third. Time, 1.15. HARTGILL HANDICAP Of £200; 1 mile. 5 BILLION. 7.3 1 3 BALLOON, 7.4 2 4 STANCHION, 7.7 3 Scr.: Kilorell, Moepai. Won by a head, with a head between second and third. Time, 1.40 2-5. TAPUATA HACK HANDICAP Of £100; 6 furlongs 7—GOLDEN SHADOW, 7.10 1 1— BELLE STAR, 8.13 2 2 QUINOLA, 7.13 3 Scr.> Miss Quex. Won by two lengths, with a half between second and third. Time, 1.13 4-5. CAULFIELD GALLOPS SMART SPRINTS United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, Today. For the final gallops at Caulfied the going was good. On the grass Phar Lap, assisted by Moochaway and Eillon, went 11 furlongs in 2.31. Greenline (W. Ellioft) ran the best four in 484, and Glenanton (R. Medhurst) went four in 481. Aloysia, with a light-weight up, ran five in 1.2?., and Touchwood defeated Dearest over five in 1.22. Pendennis beat Royal Comedian over nine in 2.13;, and Plunderer and Cragford galloped a mile in 1.48. Kendler beat Romeo over seven in 1.32|, and Panola beat Remora easily in the best six of the morning—l.lsJ. Figure pulled up badly after running three in 371.

The track was in good order and the attendance satisfactory. Results: MATAURA HURDLES Of £135; 13 miles 2 GAYOMA, 11.1 1 3 ORIFLAMB, 11.7 2 4 RED HEATHER, 9.12 3 All started. Won by a neck, with six lengths between second and third. Time, 3.14 2-5. HOKONUI HACK HANDICAP. Of £120; 7 furlongs. 1-JOCK O' HAZELDEAN, 8.3 .. .. 1 5 VINEGROVE, 8.0 2 10—INSOLENCE, 7.13 3 Scratched: Battle Maid, Bird wood. Won by two and a-half lengths, with a head between second and third. Time, 1.2 S 4-5.
