KAWAKAWA BAY is a good beach for bathing, although it is so little known, and it is reached through a most delightful run. Follow the concrete to Papakura, then turn off to Clevedon. From Clevedon run along the Ness Valley for five miles, where signs are met. Turn to the left and continue for nine miles, when the road drops into Kawakawa Bay. Clevedon, can, of course, be reached via Howick and Whitford.
