PIANO FOR SCHOOL
FUNDS RAISED BY BAZAAR A bazaar held in the Richardson Road School, Mount Albert, on Saturday resulted in £52 being raised toward the purchase of a piano. This sum will carry a Government subsidy, the total amount being sufficient for the purchase. Mr. G. G. Munns. M.P., who opened the bazaar, congratulated the residents of the district on the interest they took in the school and its work. It had taken several weeks’ patient planning to enable such a display of stalls to be arranged. Mrs. Munns was presented with a bouquet by Miss Olive Thomas, daughter of Mr. D. L. Thomas, chairman of the school committee. A cooking demonstration was carried through by the Auckland Gas Company, The school has been presented by Mr. F. B. Watts with an electricallyheated urn for making' tea. Since its opening in August last the school has grown steadily and already there are 250 pupils on the roll. It is expected that new classrooms will have to be added shortly.
