STATUS OF MALTA.—The Government of Malta has appointed Sir James Connolly as Agent-General in Uondon. Sir James was a member of the Western Australian Cabinet while L.ord Strickland, now Prime Minister of Malta, was Governor of that State. Self-government was conferred upon Malta some years ago.
