BUSY PROGRAMME

MR. RANSOM TO WELCOME BRITISH FARMERS POWER CELEBRATIONS A busy programme faces the Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public Works, following his present visit to Auckland. Mr. Ransom heard representations in the city this morning, and tomorrow he is to represent the Government at a reception to the party of British farmers arriving by the Remuera to join the farmers from South Africa and Canada, who are to be engaged on an organised tour of New Zealand. On Wednesday morning the Minister leaves on a car tour along both coasts of the district between Auckland and Dargaville. He will be back in the city on March 5, and on the following day he will speak at the opening of the Queen Street offices of the Auckland ElectricPower Board, the celebration of the official change to Arapuni power, and the observance of 21 years’ usage of electricity in Auckland. On March 7 he will open new council offices at Rotorua, and on the following day he will attend the opening at Tahuna of a new bridge over the Piako River. Before he leaves for Wellington he will visit Arapuni.

PRIME MINISTER’S VISIT

RETURN NOT YET DECIDED ON Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, has not yet decided when he will return to Wellington from Rotorua. In the course of a telephonic communication from Rotorua yesterday he said he was feeling very well and was continuing to derive benefit from the treatment he was receiving. MR. STALLWORTHY’S VISIT The Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, who is at present in Auckland, is to attend the opening of the agricultural show at Matamata tomorrow. Returning to Auckland on Wednesday, he will inspect Roto Roa and Pakatoa, the islands for inebriates, the next day. In the evening he will speak at a meeting of the Obstetrical Society in the Town Hall concert chamber in connection with the £25,000 campaign for mothers. The Minister returns South on Frida} 7 .
