Reid, who is shortly to be married, was the guest of honour at a delightful “china gift” afternoon given by Mrs. Gillard, and Miss H. Ryburn, of Ngahinapouri, recently. Ross and the Dandy Dozen Entertainers gave a very gay party for Miss Gladys Denz, who is shortly to be married. The young guests were entertained in the grounds of Mrs. Ross’s home in River Road, where many coloured lights made a fairy-like scene. There were outdoor competitions, clock tennis, bowls, games and dancing. A very bright supper was followed by the unwrapping of the many “blue” presents that the guests brought for Miss Denz. Mrs. Ross was wearing a striking frock of black embroidered net. Miss Denz was in a pretty flowered crepe de chine frock, and Mrs. Denz was in navy blue georgette.

WAITERIMIT-M ATAHURU DANCE

The very gay dance recently held to celebrate the enlarging of the Waße-rLmu-Matahuhu Hall attracted a great number of dances from far and near. Red, white and blue streamers, palm* and lycopodium were used as decorations. Music was supplied by Mr. Allan’s orchestra from Huntly, and extras were played by Miss Anatey, Miss Casley, Miss M.
