TO CONSERVE BUSH
COUNCIL BUYS PROPERTY IN GRAFTON GULLY
In accordance with its plan to conserve native bush in the Grafton Gully, above the bridge, the City Council purchased certain properties. Tho town clerk, Mr. J. S. Brigham, reported last evening that he had received a letter from the Misses "White, a portion of whose property had been acquired, asking the council to buy at least another acre of their land, which included some very fine bush. The Parks Committee will report. Mr. Brigham said the special committee appointed by the council had bought one rood 25 perches from the trustees of the estate of the late Mr. Philson for £IOO. “This is a very satisfactory deal,” remarked Cr. j. B. Paterson, chairman of the Parks Committee.
