STRAIT SWIM OFF
From Our Own Correspondent WELLINGTON, Today. Tho attempt to swim Cook Strait by R. J. Webster has been definitely abandoned for this season, and h© and his trainer, Mr. M. Blomfield, will leave for Auckland today. The weather has been so unsettled and unsatisfactory, with little prospect® of any improvement, and the water so cold that it was considered there wae no reasonable prospect of success.
