OVERSEAS LEAGUE
NEW CLUBROGMS OPENED TRAVELLING SECRETARY WELCOMED The members of the Auckland branch of the Overseas League met in the Arts Hall, Kitchener Street, last evening, on the occasion of the opening of their new clubroom, and to welcome Mr. Eric Rice, travelling secretary for the League. Dr. C. E. Maguire presided over the meeting and introduced their guest. About 600 members and friends were present. r * Rice gave an interesting address on the activities of the league in the countries both British and foreign that he has visited. Miss J. Mowbray, president of the Victoria League in Auckland, spoke of the connections of sentiment between the two organisations.
The meeting was entertained with items by Miss Jean Allen, who played a violin solo, Miss Lillian Wood, Mrs. H. King, and Mr. L. Barnes, vocal solos. Supper was served in the main hall.
