LUNA PARK
OPEN THIS EVENING The Luna Park amusement area, which has been closed during the past few days, will reopen this evening, and again tomorrow afternoon and evening. All the usual permanent devices, such as the whip, scenic railway, goofy house, fun factory, caterpillar, dodgems, water caves, and so on, will be in full operation, and the sideshows will also be open. A bus runs from the bottom of Queen Street. SUBURBAN THEATRES At both the Rialto Theatre, Newmarket, and the Regent Theatre, Epsom, the fine picture “Street Anger’ is being shown. This is a beautiful Neapolitan romance starring Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell. The Britannia Theatre, Three Lamps, is showing “In Old Arizona,” the splendid outdoor talkie starring Warner Baxter, Dorothy Burgess, and Edmund Lowe. The Theatre Royal, Kingsland, is showing “Gentlemen of the Press,” starring Walter Hutton, and “Romance Road,” starring Raymond McKee. VICTORIA, DEVONPORT “Careers,” the all-talking picture to be shown at the Victoria Theatre. Devonport, this evening, is a powerful dramatic story starring the beautiful actress, Billie Dove. She appears as the wife of a diplomat in Indo-China who is faced with the terrible decision of sacrificing either herself or her husband’s career. Antonio Moreno plays opposite her. A number of talkie features are also to be shown at the Victoria. “The Night Hostess” is the title of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer s new drama of New York night life featuring Blanche Sweet and Tom Moore. A notable cast has been assembled for the big production and spectacular dancing numbers and musical acts will be featured in the course of the story, with two original song hits by Gus Edwards.
