ONE-DAY CARD THE PROSPECTS The Canterbury Jockey Club’s summer meeting is restricted to one day, and this is to be staged tomorrow at Riccarton, very fine fields being engaged, much better than usually seen out at this gathering. Tho course at Riccarton, one of the finest in the country, should be in excellent 'condition and so there should be some stirring contests, for the acceptances, are of the best. The following promise to come in for solid support in their engagements tomorrow afternoon: Hornby Handicap.— Quarterdeck, Roi de Val and Gala Day. Trial Stakes.— Raving, Flair and Gay Crest. Middle Park Plate.— Jaleux, Charmaine and Aspiring. Midsummer Handicap.— Pride, Hoy. lake and Amor. Lyttelton Plate.— Praise-Ozone bracket, Pharoah and Winsome Hind. Craven Plate.— Red Heckle, Greenaway and Silver Coot. Haiswell Handicap.— Te Awhina, Ranelagh and Quinopal. Post Handicap.— Meprisant, Full Feather and Master Clarence. TROTTING REMINDERS Nominations tomorrow at 6 p.m. with secretary Manson, Palmerston North, for the Manawatu Trotting Club's annual fixture. On Monday next secretary Palmer will take entries for the Hawke's Bay Club’s annual meeting at Hastings. Handicaps for the second day of the Otaliuhu carnival will appear in Monday’s “Herald.” Acceptances will close at noon sharp with secretary R. L. Absolum.
