SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY LOCAL BODIES TOWN PLANNING MEETING Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The Town Planning Board met today, the Minister of Internal Affairs the Hon. P. A. de la Perelle, presiding. Speaking of the amendments desirable in the Act, particularly an amendment* for compensation apd betterment provisions, the Minister said the regional planning provisions in the 1929 Amendment Act were complete in themselves and stood by themselves without reference to any further amendments that might be made to the principal Act. Civic surveys also could not he affected by any further amendment*. It was desirable that any authorities that had not already completed these should do so without further delay. He stressed the necessity of regions 1 planning. These schemes, he 3aid. did not necessarily commit any local authority to carrying out works or expenditure that would not be otherwise undertaken.
