MISS TAYLOUR AGAIN
WILL RACE AT WESTERN SPRINGS STADIUM GOOD PROGRAMME ARRANGED On Wednesday night the famous woman broadsider, Miss Fay Taylour, won popular applause at the Western Springs stadium with her exhibitions of speed on the cinders, and Aucklanders will not be disappointed when she appears again at the stg-dium tomorrow evening. Miss Taylour is set down to make an attempt on the track lap record of 20 4-ssec, held by Frank Pearce, This is the official record, although Charlie Spinks, who will also race tomorroW night, has gone round during races in 2-ssec under this figure. A special match race will again be run between Miss Taylour and an Auckland rider who has yet to be selected, and she will also be seen matched against the men in the Big Nine Handicap. She will ride from the 4sec mark. An attempt on the mile record of lm 255, held by Frank Pearce, a special match race between the two Australians, Mann and Spinks, and a series of contests for the Chevrolet Cup, a 15-guinea trophy which is to be won outright during the evening, will be the chief attractions of this programme. Handicaps are: CHEVROLET CUP HANDICAP First heat: Alf Mattson (3isec), Frank Day (6sec), Cyril Gordon (Ssec), Alf Fribane (to be handicapped). Second heat: Bill Herbert (3i.see), Alf Way (Gsec), Jack Gordon (Bsec), Jack McDonald (12sec). Third heat: Ben Bray (3£sec), Jack Stewart (7sec), Percy Fletcher (to be handicapped). Fourth heat: Bill Allen (3Ssec), Bert Coyle (Bsec), Bobbie Cairns (9sec). BIG NINE HANDICAP First heat: Mattson (3£sec), Herbert (3iLsec), Day (ssec). Second heat: Mann (lsec), Miss Taylour (4sec), Way (ssec). Third heat: Spinks (scr), Ben Bray (Sisec), Bill Allen (3£sec). B GRADE MATCH RACE Frank Day, Alf Way,* Jack Stewart.
