“THE LAKE CITY”
COMPLAINT ABOUT ROAD "The place is in a shocking: mess—jt is so bad that the residents have named it 'Lake City.’ ” said Mr. G. A. Day, when voicing a protest before a meeting of the One Tree Hill Road Board last evening. Mr. Day went on to say that Rockfield Road, the vicinity in which he lived, was in a shocking condition owing to an inadequate drainage system. The road was situated in a lowlying area, and frequently, during heavy rainstorms, it was almost inundated. Mr. Day said all the board was asked to do was to install a proper drainage system and remedy the defect. "If you are not prepared to do This, we shall be forced to take further action,” he said. "And what, may I ask, do you mean hv further action?” inquired Mr. Gold“We shall be forced to sue the board for damages,” said Air. Day. The chairman remarked that such an action would be absurd, as the board was only too willing to assist ratepayers as much was in its power. It was .decided to ask the inspector to investigate the position and submit n. report at the next ‘meeting.
