OBITUARY
MR. ARTHUR SHORT Born in Buckinghamshire SI years ago, Mr. Arthur Short, a resident of ! New Zealand for GO years, died at his j home. 26 Pencarrow Avenue. MoLint Eden, on Tuesdaj*. Before coming to the colony ac the age of 21, Mr. Short was employed as a draughtsman, but after his arrival hero he entered the service of the Auckland Education Board, remaining in its employ until the age of 65, when he retired. At various times lie was headmaster of the Maungakaramea, Patumahoe, Harrisville and East Tamaki schools. A keen bowler, he was for many years a prominent member of the Mount Eden Bowling Club. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Messrs. F. J. Short, of Opotiki, A. W. Short and P. L. Short, of Auckland, and Mesdames INI. Rudd, N. Caplen, C. C. Scott, of Auckland, and J. Garrett, of Tauranga. His eldest daughter. I Mrs. A. J. Glasson, of Hawera, died | a fortnight ago. MR. F. SULLIVAN The death occurred in Christchurch j yesterday of Mr. F. Sullivan, aged 75 ; years, an old resident of Woolston. Mr. ; Sullivan was the father of Mr. D. G. j Sullivan. M.P. for Avon.—P.A.
